MY FAVORITE PURCHASES | WINTER 2021

After what’s felt like an eternity, the weather has been consistently warm for the last few weeks and it seems like the longest winter ever might be behind us. To celebrate the beginning of a new season, I thought I’d share some of the things that brought me joy this winter. Keep reading for my favorite purchases of winter 2021!

1. Wireless Headphones – This is a purchase that was way overdue! I work well in silence, but I share an office, so I’m typically wearing headphones all day at work while I listen to music or podcasts. I always joked with my office mate that I should be in an Airpods commercial because when I was wearing regular headphones I’d get them tangled up and drop my phone as a result at least twice a day. One of my favorite bloggers posted about these wireless headphones earlier this year and I took it as a sign to finally pull the trigger. I couldn’t be happier with them, especially considering that they’re about 1/10th of the price of the newest Airpods! They’re comfortable and the battery actually lasts a lot longer than advertised – sometimes they last for my entire 8-hour workday. I can’t recommend these enough!

2. Stars Above Satin Pajama Set – I’ve previously shared my recent obsession with matching pajama sets, but these Stars Above satin pajamas have really taken the obsession to the next level. They’re insanely soft and feel so luxurious, and I never have issues with gapping between buttons like I do with some of my cotton pajama sets. I now own these in three colors, but this floral set is my favorite!

3. Petite Rainbow Studs – At the start of the year, I set a goal for myself to buy most of my jewelry from small businesses. Historically I’ve been way too prone to impulse buying $7 earrings from Target, but this year I want to be more intentional about my jewelry purchases. I discovered Oceanne when one of my friends shared them on Instagram a while back, so when I was looking for some new gold studs I decided to check them out. These little rainbow studs bring me so much joy! They’re so cute and the quality is great. I can’t recommend Oceanne enough!

4. Casaluna Chunky Knit Bed Blanket – After obsessing over this blanket for months, I finally bought it last month and it’s even better than I hoped it would be. I love how heavy it is and the knit texture is so cozy. Even our dogs are obsessed – they basically want to be snuggling with it at all times. Darian’s already trying to convince me that we need a second one for the living room and he just might convince me!

5. Brass Cabinet Knobs – If you follow me on Instagram, you know that this winter we FINALLY finished the built-ins in our living room. This was our biggest project yet and honestly we had no idea what we were doing, but we did it! The built-ins were in a half finished stage for several months, and during that time I spent weeks searching for the perfect brass cabinet knobs. I had my heart set on these Ball Cabinet Knobs from Rejuvenation but they were backordered for months, so I headed to Amazon and found these beauties. I can’t get over the quality, especially for the price – the finish is absolutely perfect and they’re heavy and durable.

6. Artificial Eucalyptus Leaf Stem – I am a chronic plant killer, so I’m always on the hunt for new faux greenery. I saw these at Target a few months ago and immediately loved them. I’m a sucker for eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus is my favorite, so I was so excited about this find. You can definitely tell these stems aren’t real, but they’re so pretty I don’t mind at all.

7. “Gathering” Print – My taste has changed a lot over the past year, and lately I’ve found myself gravitating toward vintage prints. Vintage Supply is one of my favorite print shops and this “Gathering” print is my favorite purchase from them so far. It’s perfectly moody and brings great contrast to the lighter tones in our living room, and I love that I was able to purchase it as a digital download and have it printed at my convenience.

8. Decorative Metal Knot Figurine – I finally got around to styling our dresser when we took a break from big house projects this winter, but after shopping our home and picking up some pretty coffee table books from antique stores, it was still missing something. This decorative brass knot was the perfect finishing touch! It’s not a shade I’d typically use, but its unique shape and color make it a perfect styling accent.

9. Wildflowers Necklace – Over the last few years I’ve noticed a change in how I prefer to wear jewelry. In my younger years I was very into the statement jewelry trend – the bigger, the better. Recently I’ve been more drawn to delicate jewelry (although I definitely still appreciate a good statement earring). I’m a huge fan of LayeredandLongxGHLDN’s Etsy shop, so when I was on the lookout for a new everyday necklace, that was my first stop. I got this necklace in the 19 – 21 inch length and if I were to buy it again I’d probably get it a bit shorter, but I still absolutely love it and it’s definitely one of my new favorites.

10. Leah Printed Pillow Cover – Now that our home is finally at the point where it’s fully furnished and mostly decorated, I’ve been taking time to perfect the little details in each room. Our living room is my favorite room in the house, but the clearance Homegoods pillows I bought when we first moved in weren’t really doing the room any favors. Katie from Halfway Wholeistic shared this pillow cover from Pottery Barn and I knew it would be perfect to bring a little more color into our mostly neutral living room. I’m so impressed by the quality and the price was a steal, too!
